Angus Family tree [posted by familyFinder 98 days ago - 115 views]

My nan was Kathleen Angus. Born in Yiewsley, Middlesex in 1928. Her father was Thomas Angus, and mother was Lillian Kathleen Farr. I believe I have successfully traced her mother's side fairly far back and am very happy with my progress so far.

However, i am having great difficulty tracing her father's line any further than Thomas.

What i know:
- he was born in Paddington on Oct 7th 1901
- this was after the 1901 census, so unfortunately he's not on any census which will help trace his parents.
- There are a few Angus families in the area at that time...any of which could be valid, so I can't just pick and choose.

If anyone knows of an wasy way I could find out, or get past this step, please share...I would be most grateful.

Thanks.

Thanks to a good friend and distant family member who suggested to me recently to just pay £7 and send off for the Birth Certificate copy from the General Record Office(GRO), I have now been able to trace back 200 years before Thomas Angus 1901 - all the way to his distant ancestors Thomas and Mary Angus 1792!

Amazing. I now sincerely recommend that if anyone is stuck for information on people born just after the 1901 census(hence lacking vital data), to do just this. It will give you reliable information and take you back before the 1901 census...where things start to get a little easier.
